Cerussi & Gunn, P.C. specializes in representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, and nursing home neglect. Our trial experience covers both state and federal court systems.
Mr. Cerussi has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" in the field of "Personal Injury Plaintiff: Medical Malpractice" for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
At the law firm of Cerussi & Gunn, P.C., our attorneys focus their law practice on medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, and nursing home neglect. Our law firm is very selective about the cases that we take on, because we want to devote the energies of the firm's lawyers to those matters in which each attorney can make the greatest difference for the injured and the bereaved.
For some sample results in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury cases, see the Verdicts and Settlements obtained on behalf of the clients of the firm's attorneys during their respective careers.
Our law firm, with offices in Monmouth County, New Jersey and Long Island, New York has handled personal injury and wrongful death cases involving practically all medical specialties including internal medicine, anesthesiology, pulmonology, neurology, pediatrics, and neurosurgery. The firm's lawyers believe that the law firm's clients are well-served by the close personal attention that each attorney devotes to the firm's cases.
Each lawyer is proud to have achieved many favorable outcomes for those who have sustained an injury or died as the result of the negligence or malpractice of another, including patients who have been injured by a doctor, nurse or other medical, hospital and/or nursing home professionals. Our law offices also understand that getting answers to the question of "why" in a medical malpractice, personal injury or wrongful death action is as crucial a goal as financial compensation to many of the firm's clients.
Many of our past clients refer us to others on the basis of our accomplishments on their behalf. Moreover, Mr. Cerussi's legal peers have recognized his capabilities through his designation as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, an honor bestowed on only 2% of the lawyers in the State of New Jersey. Many of the firm's cases are referred by other law firms.

Cerussi at our law firm. The firm has primary offices in Monmouth County, New Jersey and on Long Island (Garden City in Nassau County). We serve all counties in New Jersey (NJ) and New York (NY) including Monmouth County, NJ, Nassau County, NY, Ocean County, NJ, Middlesex County, NJ, Queens County, NY, Manhattan and Suffolk County, NY.
Our attorneys have handled numerous wrongful death actions arising from medical malpractice and other types of accidents (e.g., motor vehicle accidents, construction site accidents). The firm has experience in representing individuals in medical malpractice actions who have suffered an adverse drug reaction, allergic reaction and/or anaphylactic reaction to medication.
In one such recent malpractice case in Ocean County, NJ, our client developed drug induced pulmonary edema when her internist and cardiologist ignored a known allergy to sulfa medication, which tragically resulted in her death.
In a cardiology malpractice case, our young client was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and given a combination of drugs that resulted in a condition known as rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown), and this client also tragically died.
Another client walked into an emergency treatment center while suffering an asthma attack and because the facility was not properly staffed, she was not timely treated and the attack resulted in her untimely death.
In another malpractice action (Monmouth County, NJ) against a neurosurgeon, our young client, who had suffered an aneurysm, died after the surgeon failed to relieve her intracranial pressure, which led to the AVM rupturing (uncal herniation).
